Dark and Darker Mobile's first major update is scheduled for release on March 5th.

Based on valuable feedback from our community, this update aims to improve overall stability, adjust class balance, and enhance quality-of-life features.

The update will introduce overall class adjustments, new unique-grade equipment, main menu customization options, and UI feature improvements. These additions are designed to enhance your gameplay experience and make your adventures even more enjoyable.


Additionally, with the start of a new season, which will run longer than Pre-Season #1, several systems will be reset, and various changes will be applied.


We carefully review every piece of feedback you share, so we encourage you to continue voicing your thoughts freely at any time.

We are committed to making gradual improvements to ensure Dark and Darker Mobile provides a smoother and more enjoyable adventure for all players.

1. Pre-Season #2 Update

Pre-Season #2 "A Step Towards Greatness" begins!

  • A new season ranking will begin alongside new seasonal objectives. 
  • Results from Pre-Season #1 will be converted into season coins, which can be used to purchase items from the season shop.

2. Dungeon Adventures

Based on your feedback, we've made adjustments to increase escape opportunities, add more quality-of-life improvements, and introduce new unique and legendary gear to make dungeon runs even more exciting.

  • New unique weapons and armor will be added. These items have a chance to drop from defeated bosses or can be discovered in secret areas.
  • Unique armor can also be acquired by achieving super successes, which randomly occurs when crafting gear.

  • Unique weapons will trigger special effects when dealing damage to enemies.

  • The difficulty of an early quest related to the Forgotten Castle will be made easier. The requirements for delivering the quest item dropped by Cockatrices will be changed to "escaping from the Forgotten Castle" and "defeating the Skeleton Mage in the Forgotten Castle (Hard)" respectively.
  • Portal cooldown time will be reduced from 120 seconds to 100 seconds.
  • The number of red dungeon portals in the Forgotten Castle will be increased from 2 to 3.
    • The number of escape portals will remain unchanged.
  • The Dark Swarm's initial damage per second in all Hell difficulty dungeons will be reduced slightly.
  • Adventurers will be able to place location markers on the map for party members.
    • The party members can then indicate that they have checked the location marker without the need for a text or voice chat.
    • Tapping the location marker will display a check icon.

  • 4 new mimic variants will be added.
  • New equipment rewards will be available in the secret areas, which can be accessed using either a Golden Key or a Skeleton Key.
    • For Inferno Dungeons: 30 new Unique Equipment and 17 new Legendary Equipment will be added.
    • For the Forgotten Castle (Hell): 17 new pieces of Legendary Equipment will be added.
    • For the Goblin Caves (Hell): 17 new pieces of Legendary Equipment will be added.
  • The pickup and drop speed of throwable objects in dungeons will be increased slightly.


3. Combat

Various battle effects and convenience functions will be added for a more intuitive combat.


1) A new stat type, "potion effect duration," will be introduced.

  • Previously, as a character's max health increased, the effectiveness of potion recovery remained constant, leading to a relative shortage of healing as the character leveled up.
  • To address this issue, a new stat type, "potion effect duration," will be added.
  • Applies to:
    • Healing Potions, Willpower Potions, Protection Potions, Invisibility Potions
  • How to Get:
    • Equipment Options, Collection Rewards

2) To improve clarity, new visual effects have been added for various status conditions, including Burn, Poison, Bleed, Health/Willpower Recovery, Immunity, and Undying State.

3) Adventurers will now be able to distinguish between player and NPC footsteps, making it easier to detect other players by sound.

4) When an adventurer with an active barrier takes damage, a visual indicator will now clearly show that the barrier is engaged.

5) If an adventurer accidentally hits an ally in combat, a text notification will appear to indicate that no damage was dealt, helping with situational awareness.

6) When an adventurer takes hit while guarding, players will now see revised hit indicators, making it easier to recognize whether they succeeded at blocking the attack or resulted in taking damage.

7) The countdown for skill cooldowns will now start at the moment the skill effect activates.

8) Quest markers for delivery missions will no longer be displayed if the adventurer has already completed the quest or has the required number of items.

9) Death Skulls will have increased health, improved move speed, and will now self-destruct under certain conditions.

10) Items

  • The grip animations for Zweihanders and Longswords have been modified to visually differentiate between the two.
  • An issue where skills for battle axes would sometimes not hit targets within its maximum range will be fixed.
  • Physical power stats will also be applied to attack skills using shields.
  • Cockatrice Feathers (quest items) will no longer stack when stored.

11) Miscellaneous 

  • Fire-based hazards (Explosive Bottles, Skeletal Mage's fire zones) will now deal damage even when jumping over them.
  • Certain skill tooltips will be improved for better clarity and to be more intuitive.
  • Jumping, crouching, or making minor adjustments while using Aim Assist will no longer cause the crosshair to deviate drastically.
  • The visual marker for dungeon objects that have already been interacted with will now be deactivated.
  • When crouching, move speed will be reduced by 20%.
  • Debuffs will now be removed upon being successfully revived.
    • Debuffs will also be removed when being revived while knocked out.
  • If the difference between an attacker's impact power and a defender's impact reduction exceeds 3, the attack motion will no longer be canceled and will only break defensive stances without directly dealing damage.
  • The bleed damage from traps will be increased.
    • Damage per trap spike: 2 → 5
  • The bleed damage from thrown jars will be increased.
    • Damage per shard: 2 → 5


4. Weapons

  • One-Handed Crossbow
    • The damage will be decreased.
      • Physical power per shot: 60% → 45%
  • Longsword
    • The impact reduction will be increased: 1 → 2
    • The guard time will be decreased: 0.9 sec → 0.6 sec
    • The cooldown will be increased: 3 sec → 5sec
    • Longswords will now be able to block weapons with impact power of 4 or less.
    • The description will be revised to clarify the types of weapons they can block.
      • Attacks with impact power of 4 or less will be blocked by longswords.
  • Round Shield
    • The description will be revised to clarify the types of weapons they can block.
      • Attacks with impact power of 3 or less will be blocked by round shields.
  • Heater Shield
    • Heater Shield Defensive Stance
      • The impact reduction will be increased by 1.
      • The cooldown after guarding will be increased: 4 sec → 6 sec
    • The description will be revised to clarify the types of weapons they can block.
      • Attacks with impact power of 5 or less will be blocked by heater shields.
  • Buckler
    • The stun duration will be decreased when using skills: 1 sec → 0.7 sec
    • The description will be revised to clarify the types of weapons they can block.
      • Attacks with impact power of 5 or less will be blocked by bucklers.
  • Spear
    • The maximum power of javelins will be increased slightly.
  • Shortbow
    • The arrow flight speed will be increased.
  • Recurve Bow
    • The arrow flight speed will be increased.
  • Double Axe
    • An issue where throwing the axe with the weapon skill applied excessive impact power will be fixed.


5. Classes

The class balance will be calibrated in general.

Since balance is one of the most crucial aspects of the game, we will continue improving it based on data analysis and feedback from adventurers.


1) Fighter

  • Shield Rush (Active)
    • The area of impact will be increased.
  • Spear Mastery (Passive)
    • The physical power will be increased by 5 and the attack speed will be increased by 15% when a spear is equipped.
  • Slayer (Passive)
    • The physical power will be increased: 5 → 8
  • Counterattack (Passive)
    • The damage per block will be increased: 5% → 15%
    • The damage boost for second block will be removed.
  • Defense Expert (Passive)
    • 30% move speed increase will be changed to "25% reduction of move speed penalty while blocking" (increases the move speed by approximately 15% compared to before).
  • Improvised Weapon Mastery (Passive)
    • The throwing speed of objects will be increased: 10% → 30%
  • Quick Reload (Passive) Skill will be added.
    • The reload speed for crossbows will be increased by 20%.

2) Barbarian

  • The charging time for battle axes will be decreased: 0.8 sec → 0.4 sec
  • Throwing Axe Mastery (Passive)
    • The damage will be increased: 5% → 15%
  • Berserker (Passive)
    • The damage boost per stack will be increased:
      • 5% → 10%
    • The maximum stack will be decreased: 9 → 6

3) Rogue

  • Rogues will now be able to equip rapiers.
  • The character's silhouette will be exposed while in Stealth at adjusted intervals
    • 4 sec → 6 sec
  • Weakpoint Attack (Active)
    • The physical power will be increased: 7 → 10
  • King of Thieves (Passive)
    • The notification message when entering stealth will be removed.
      • This change prevents showing overlapping messages for stealth activation and gold obtained via pickpocketing.
  • Somersault (Active)
    • Using a skill during the stealth granted after the somersault will now cancel stealth.
  • Dagger Throw (Active)
    • The damage will be increased:
      • 60% → 80% per dagger (total 400% damage) 
    • The cooldown will be decreased:
      • 15 sec → 12 sec
  • Backstab (Passive)
    • Backstabs will now stun the target more frequently.
      • Cooldown:
        • 15 sec → 8 sec

4) Cleric

  • Protection (Active)
    • The damage absorption for barriers will be increased: 20 → 35
  • Holy Light (Active)
    • The healing will be enhanced: 10 → 17
  • Blazing Ray (Active)
    • The skill cooldown will be decreased: 8 sec → 6 sec
    • The move speed during casting will be increased slightly.
  • Bind (Active)
    • The casting speed will be decreased slightly.
    • Bind will now cause explosion that deals damage and immobilizes enemies within an area.
      • The effect will be applied to the explosion radius of 0.8 m for binding shots.
  • Resurrection (Active)
    • Resurrection can now be used on knocked out allies.
    • The skill usability will be improved.
      • The skill range will be set to 10m
      • Aiming for a target will become easier.
  • Hand of Salvation (Passive)
    • The barrier effect will be increased: 20 → 35
  • Healing Shield (Passive)
    • The health recovery value will be increased: 15% → 20% of magic power
  • Self Protection (Passive)
    • The barrier effect will be increased: 90 → 120
  • Light of Healing (Passive)
    • The skill duration will be increased: 5 sec → 10 sec
    • The healing will be enhanced: 20 → 25
  • Undead Slayer (Passive)
    • The Undead Slayer effect will be enhanced: 20% → 40%
  • Magic Mastery (Passive)
    • The magic damage of staff will be increased: 10% → 13%
  • Eyes of Detection (Passive)
    • The skill effect will now only apply to targets in stealth.
  • Advanced Healer (Passive)
    • The incoming damage penalty will be removed.
  • Protection from Evil (Passive) Skill will be added.
    • Duration of all debuffs will be decreased by 30%.

5) Wizard

  • Crystal Ball
    • The number of times the skill can be used will be adjusted: 10 times → 6 times
  • Thunder Strike (Active)
    • The attack radius will be adjusted: 1.2m → 0.9m.
    • The casting speed will be increased slightly. A minor delay will be added when the lightning falls.

6) Ranger

  • Spear Mastery will be added.
    • Rangers will now be able to equip spears.
    • Move speed will be increased by 10% when a spear is equipped.
  • Ranged Weapon Mastery
    • Ranged weapons will deal more damage.
      • The physical power will be increased: 5 → 7
  • Field Ration
    • Field Ration will now remove all debuffs.
  • Hunting Trap
    • Trapped targets will take more damage.
      • The fixed damage will be increased: 10 → 15
    • The time to disarm traps will be increased:
      • 1 sec → 1.2 sec
  • Impact Force
    • The number of times the effect can be applied will be increased:
      • 2 times → 3 times
  • Weakpoint Exploitation
    • The maximum stack will be decreased, but the effect will be enhanced.
      • 5 stacks → 3 stacks
      • Physical defense reduction per stack 10% → 15%. 
  • Sharpshooter
    • The headshot damage will be increased.
      • Headshot damage 10% → 15%
  • Trap Mastery
    • An issue where the number of available traps did not get replenished after retrieving traps will be fixed.


6. Quests

  • The following changes have been made to promote quest progression in the Forgotten Castle.

7. UI/UX Improvements

  • Customizable main menu options will be added.
  • The skins currently equipped by characters will now be available to preview in the profile screen.
  • The item names and tooltips for unique items will be revised.
    • The icons and effect descriptions for special abilities will now be separated from each other for improved visibility. Also, interesting lore elements will be added to describe the item's background.
  • The remaining time for event attendance will now be visible.
  • An auto-lock feature for some skins, such as Battle Pass skins, will be added.
    • Some exclusive skins that cannot be reacquired after dismantling will now be automatically locked upon acquisition to prevent the accident of mass dismantling such skins.
  • Equipment restoration costs will be adjusted at the Altar of Time. The cost will be reduced for rare equipment and increased for epic or higher grade equipment.
  • Players will now be able to change character nicknames from the profile screen. This procedure will consume platinum coins.


8. Crafting

Crafting has been updated to make the content more meaningful.

  • New legendary armor recipes will be added.
    • 10% chance of super success to produce a unique item will be introduced.
  • Certain crafted items with identical names but different grades will be adjusted for better clarity.
    • Bandage > Uncommon Bandage
    • Healing Potion > Uncommon Healing Potion


9. Mercenaries

  • The mercenary AI behavior will be upgraded to include improved side evasion when approaching targets and more accurate distance assessment in combat. 
  • The cost for meeting new mercenaries will be adjusted to make it easier for adventurers to encounter a variety of mercenaries: 30 platinum coins → 100 gold.
  • Due to this adjustment, the automatic refresh time for new mercenaries in the tavern will also be changed: 1 hour → 2 hours.
  • The hiring costs for S-rank mercenaries will be adjusted:
    • First hire: 2,000 gold → 400 platinum coins
    • Second hire: 400 platinum coins → 600 platinum coins
    • Third hire: 600 platinum coins → 800 platinum coins
  • The visiting rates for B- to S-rank mercenaries will be adjusted:

    • The visiting rate for S-rank mercenaries will be increased.
    • The 100% visiting rate for A- and B-rank mercenaries will be decreased.
  • An issue where some equipment displayed incorrect class compatibility in the mercenary information window will be fixed.


10. Merchants and Shops

  • The season shop has been updated for Pre-Season #2! In addition to new season gear and XP potions, new items have been added, including profile pics to showcase your style.
  • The mileage shop will now offer Skeleton Keys and Golden Keys.
  • The mileage shop will now offer Brilliant Equipment Chests, where you have a chance to acquire new unique weapons and armor.
  • New items added to the shop:
    • Adventurer Support Chest - Available once per day with gold. Visit the shop every day!
    • Adventurer's Equipment Pack
    • Sandglass Pack

11. Collections

  • A new Pre-Season #2 collection will be available. Progress from the general collection will be retained.
  • Some items will be added and removed in the Pre-Season #2 collection update.


12. Bug Fixes and Improvements

  • Improvements have been made to enhance stability across various devices and network conditions. 
  • Fixed an issue where the game would intermittently crash or restart under certain conditions.
  • Fixed an issue where the Reinforced Thrust skill cooldown was not resetting when using the Enhanced Roll passive skill, which grants weapon skill cooldown resets.
  • Fixed an issue where gold acquisition effects would not display correctly after dungeon escape in high-ping environments.
  • Fixed an issue where entering the lobby after selecting a character caused long wait times.
  • Fixed an issue where unknown information appeared on the Character List screen after launching the game.
  • Fixed an issue where the default escape headstone appearance was incorrectly shown when rotating the Ebon Roar Soul Lv. 5 preview.
